After years of struggling with weight management and multiple health issues including dangerous high blood pressure, daily heartburn, chronic joint pain, and obesity, a person had a wake-up call at a dental appointment where their blood pressure was so high the procedure had to be delayed. That same night they enrolled in Revero clinic and restarted the keto-carnivore diet, losing 80 pounds in 94 days (from 289 to 209 lbs) while eliminating heartburn, acid reflux, joint pain, and significantly improving blood pressure.

A Personal Journey to Health and Wellness
A Lifelong Struggle with Weight Management
For much of my adult life, I have grappled with maintaining a healthy weight. These conditions significantly impacted my quality of life.
The Turning Point
A routine dentist appointment on April 23, 2025, became a pivotal moment. Before my cleaning, the hygienist took my blood pressure and inquired whether I was on medication for hypertension. When I responded that I was not, she explained that my blood pressure was concerning, particularly the lower number, and she could not proceed with the appointment unless I could relax to lower it. After 10–15 minutes of calming down, my blood pressure fell within an acceptable range, allowing the cleaning to proceed. During the appointment, the hygienist gently emphasized the importance of prioritizing my health, noting that I was not getting any younger.
A Call to Action
That evening, I shared the experience with my fiancé as well as my son, a firefighter, and they both expressed deep concern about my blood pressure results and urged me to take immediate action. Embracing the Keto-Carnivore Diet
The following morning, I recommitted to the keto-carnivore diet. On April 25, I underwent a blood draw, followed by my first appointment with Dr. Peterson the next week. I informed her that I had already begun the keto-carnivore diet, and she reviewed my initial lab results with me. While my labs were not alarming, they highlighted areas for improvement. Dr. Peterson supported my dietary choice and provided guidance for moving forward.
94 Days of Transformation: What I Consumed
In the last 94 days on the keto-carnivore diet, my consumption included 24 dozen eggs, 4 pounds of sharp cheddar, 12 pounds of butter, 36 pounds of bacon, 92 pounds of beef, and 117.5 gallons of water. I also enjoyed 2 pounds of copper river salmon, 2 lobster tails, and 42 bags of pork rinds. There were a few minor deviations from the strict protocol, including 1 package of licorice, 9 French fries that I actually counted, and 2 waffles, but these represented minimal departures from my commitment to the keto-carnivore approach.
Remarkable Health Improvements
The transformation has been nothing short of extraordinary across multiple areas of my health. My knee pain became virtually non-existent, the swelling in my knees completely disappeared, and my hip pain vanished entirely while my hip mobility returned to normal. All other joint pain throughout my body resolved, and the range of motion in my left shoulder returned to normal with complete elimination of pain. Perhaps most importantly, I stopped waking up stiff and hobbling around in the mornings, which had been a daily struggle for years.
My digestive health underwent a complete transformation. The daily heartburn that had plagued me for years completely disappeared, and I haven't needed a single TUMS in 94 days. The acid reflux that used to wake me up multiple times per night is completely gone, and I haven't been disturbed by it even once since starting the diet. My frequent visits to the restroom decreased significantly, and I no longer experience the urgent need to use the restroom immediately after eating, which had been a constant source of discomfort and inconvenience.
The cardiovascular improvements were particularly dramatic and important given my wake-up call at the dentist. My blood pressure dropped from a dangerous 147/127 on April 23, 2025, to typically around 128/75 now. My resting heart rate improved significantly from the high 80s and low 90s down to a much healthier 66-72 range. My fiancé has also noticed that my snoring has dramatically reduced, which has improved both of our sleep quality.
Several unexpected benefits emerged that I hadn't anticipated. On June 21, I noticed I could read the clock on the microwave from the couch without my glasses, which was a completely unexpected improvement in my vision. The cystic acne that had been painful and persistent on my scalp completely stopped forming. I also discovered on June 21 that the skin tags on the inside of my upper arms had completely disappeared. My gums no longer bleed when I brush or floss, which had been an ongoing concern for dental health.
My sleep quality has transformed dramatically. When I go to bed at night, I feel like I literally melt into the bed, experiencing a level of comfort and restfulness that I hadn't felt in years. The combination of all these improvements has created a cascading effect where each benefit reinforces the others, leading to an overall sense of wellness that I had forgotten was possible.

The weight has been melting off consistently throughout this journey. I started at 289 pounds on April 23, 2025, and reached 209 pounds on July 26, representing a total loss of 80 pounds in just 94 days. This rate of weight loss has been steady and sustainable, without the typical hunger, cravings, or energy crashes that I experienced with other dietary approaches in the past.
Early Results and Future Expectations
After 94 days on the keto-carnivore diet, I have noticed these encouraging changes in my health. I am optimistic about my upcoming lab results and hope to see measurable progress in my biomarkers. The journey has just begun, but I am committed to sustaining this lifestyle change to improve my overall well-being. This experience has reinforced my belief in the power of the keto-carnivore diet when properly supported by knowledgeable medical professionals who understand and advocate for this approach to health and healing.
