Amanda Improved Chronic Pain And Healed Digestion

Amanda endured over a decade of debilitating chronic pain and deep depression. After switching to a keto-carnivore lifestyle, her depression vanished within two weeks, and she lost 30 pounds while gaining freedom from food obsession. Breaking Free from Chronic Pain and Depression with Keto-Carnivore

A Decade of Debilitating Pain
For over ten years, I battled unrelenting chronic pain—spanning my head, neck, jaw, and face. Not once during that time did I feel relief, not even for a second. I saw more than fifty doctors and specialists, but none could offer help. Most didn’t seem to care. The constant pain led to severe depression, and starting from my teenage years, I also dealt with disordered eating from trying to follow low-fat diets. My weight fluctuated wildly over the years.

A Shift Toward Healing
In November of last year, I adopted a strict keto-carnivore lifestyle. Within just two weeks, my depression lifted. Though the pain hasn’t fully resolved, I can now live with it far more easily. Most importantly, I finally feel hopeful again.

Six weeks into keto-carnivore, I lost 20 pounds and dropped two dress sizes. My minor digestive issues, like bloating, also disappeared. Over time, I lost a total of 30 pounds—a significant amount on my 5'2" frame. Every pound made a visible difference. This month, I’ve begun experimenting with time-restricted eating, eating within a 6-hour window, to see if it impacts my pain further.

Freedom Through Simplicity
One of the biggest gifts of this lifestyle is the freedom from constantly weighing food or tracking calories and carbs. I no longer obsess about meals—what or how much to eat. That freedom is truly magical.

A Family Journey
My husband joined me on keto-carnivore at the start of the year. Since then, he has reversed both his asthma and arrhythmia. He’s fully committed to this way of eating. We live in Italy, where pasta is a cultural staple, so we’re often viewed as unusual. But since pork is practically a religion here, it’s much easier being keto-carnivore than it would be being vegetarian.

A Mission to Learn and Educate
Though my background is in physics and I previously worked for the UK Ministry of Defence, I’ve spent the last twenty years deeply studying nutrition. I’m currently enrolled in a Stanford nutrition course—though I suspect my food choices may spark some lively discussions with my tutor!

I hope to use what I’ve learned to help family members facing serious weight and health problems. The resources on the keto-carnivore sites have been invaluable, and I’m looking forward to attending the keto-carnivore event in Spain this May. For once, I’ll be surrounded by others who truly understand this way of eating.
