David’s Keto Carnivore Pain Recovery
David struggled with knee pain for years and even had surgery at 15. By age 23, the pain forced him to stop exercising. His diet remained “standard” and he walked with a limp—his health was deteriorating.

Working with a Personal Trainer
David then hired a personal trainer, starting with walking, adding weight lifting and running. He lost weight and eased some knee pain, but once he stopped training, the weight—and pain—returned.

Taking Control of His Health
Inspired by his father’s premature health decline—a heart attack at 50 and Parkinson’s—David decided to change his path before turning 50. He signed up for a half marathon, only to tear knee cartilage during training. Despite this, he completed an 800 km bike ride for his birthday, although it was grueling.

Starting Keto Carnivore
David initially began with a ketogenic diet after recognizing from his mental health background that low-carb could aid mental clarity. In June 2019, after hearing Dr. Shawn Baker on a podcast, he transitioned to a keto carnivore diet, lowering carbs to zero for a month.

A Game Changer for Pain
He calls keto carnivore a “game changer” and says it was easier than keto. After an initial bowel adjustment in month two, he’s never looked back. He fasts, eats mostly beef with some dairy and spices, does resistance training, and cycles regularly.

David found the 800 km bike ride on keto carnivore much easier than on a standard diet. While others relied on fruity carbs, he only used salt in his hydration. His joints no longer ache and his limp is gone—his body simply feels better.
