Yo-Yo Dieting And Weight Gain: A Vicious Cycle
For as long as I can remember the scale crept upward. Each crash diet carved off thirty pounds, each celebratory binge returned forty. After my daughter’s birth a low-carb plan helped me drop seventy-five pounds, yet “normal” eating brought back one hundred within eighteen months. Family genes pointed toward thyroid trouble and diabetes; my mother and grandmother lived that script and, by thirty-five, I was clearly next in line.
