Bobby's Experience: Off Diabetes and Blood Pressure Medications, and Back in the Pool

Before
In my mid-thirties, I began dealing with being overweight, sometimes obesity, along with diabetes and high blood pressure. That continued for a long stretch of my life. Before I started with Revero I had lost some weight on my own and gotten down to around 230, but the diabetes and the blood pressure were still there, and so were the medications. I was taking two diabetes medications plus insulin, and blood pressure medicine on top of that.
What changed
The first big change was my diet, essentially limiting carbs extensively and moving to a personalized high-protein approach. Alongside that, my numbers were monitored by my medical care team.
Within about three weeks I started to notice some change. My digestive system was adjusting to the new way of eating, and that lasted about a month.
Then my biometrics started showing improvement. My blood pressure levels were in the normal range and stayed there. My medical provider eliminated the blood pressure medicine, and my blood pressure remained level.
Somewhere about six weeks into the program my blood sugar stabilized. I ran a trial with no insulin at first, and blood sugars were in the normal range. From there the insulin and both diabetes medications were eliminated.
I tracked my energy level on the Revero app, and my energy level improved. My moods began to improve steadily. All of those benefits have continued onward.
My weight moved from the 230s down to around 190 and stayed in that range through this whole period. What's very marked to me is the extra energy, and the capacity to exercise without becoming overly fatigued.
The thing I couldn't do before
Possibly the biggest thing is that I was able to return to swimming. In late July 2026 I swam 3,000 yards in just under an hour. Before, I was unable to sustain that exercise for that long. I built the swimming up from 20 minutes to the full hour over about eight weeks.
What surprised me most
"Most" is harder to answer, because all of the improvements were big surprises. I never imagined being off diabetes medication. I never imagined being off blood pressure medicine. Weight stabilization was a fairly new phenomenon for me. I was generally very pleased and very surprised, and I keep getting surprises.
One is being able to sustain the discipline necessary to continue to be healthy. Perhaps the biggest surprise was my relationship to carbohydrates. After three to four weeks in which I did experience cravings, I no longer craved carbohydrates. Even when I would fail to strictly follow the plan and eat some carbs, after a couple of days I was able to get back into the full routine without any cravings.
What I'd tell someone considering Revero
Don't wait. Get started as quickly as possible, and practice endurance for about a month.
If you're living with diabetes, obesity, or another metabolic condition, I'd encourage you to get started.
Start making real progress
