Beginning the Keto‑Carnivore Journey
My name is Demetrios. I’m 37 and shortly after turning 36 in February 2022, I began a keto‑carnivore diet. I’d been overweight all my life—over 250 in high school, peaking at 320+ after my first child. I tried countless diets but gave up after each failure.

Inspired by a conversation with my neighbor about Dr. Baker and Joe Rogan, I decided to try keto‑carnivore after a pizza binge spiked my blood pressure and heart rate. Despite my wife’s surprise, I hopped in and fully committed by April.

Dramatic Health Improvements
That first month, I eliminated carbs and sugars. By late April, I was fully keto‑carnivore, aiming to quit two blood pressure medications. Remarkably, my blood pressure stabilized at 117/72. My doctor was amazed—I’d lost around 40 lb, so we began tapering off meds. By May, I was medication‑free.

I continued losing 2–3 lb per week and within three months, joint pain from carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, and herniated discs vanished. I woke up every morning at 5 am full of energy, feeling great all day long.

Eating and Routine
I eat mostly 80/20 grass‑fed ground beef, eggs, butter, and olive oil. I’ve never had much taste for fruits or vegetables. When I experimented with fruit or honey, I felt sick, experienced sugar crashes, and joint pain returned. I realized carbs undermined my progress.

My job as an auto mechanic keeps me active, and I’ve adopted a 16/8 intermittent fasting pattern. Energy crashes are a thing of the past.

Results and Lifestyle Changes
By June 2023, I’d lost around 130 lb, dropping from 310–315 down to 182. My clothing went from 3XL shirts and size 44 pants to large shirts and 34 pants. I didn’t focus on working out, but recently started riding my bike 5–10 miles a day and doing farmer’s walks alongside physically demanding work.

Blood panels over the past year show lowered LDL and increased HDL—my lipid profile actually improved.

Why It Matters
​Before keto‑carnivore, I faced uncontrolled blood pressure, an A‑fib episode, no energy, and zero motivation. Today I feel saved—physically and mentally—thanks to this way of eating.
